The Opening Titles for the film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011) gives the audience a small indication for what is to come up in the film.
Genre: From watching the opening titles of the film, I could kind of work out the genre of the film which I thought it was a mystery/crime/drama hybrid. The reason why I thought it was a mystery is mainly because of the the colour scheme really as they were very dark and mysterious, silver and black colours and as well as that the music makes it seem mysterious as well. The reason why I thought there could be drama in there is because of the actor Daniel Craig (previously been in lots of dramas and action movies and TV shows) and it just looks like a very dramatised film. And finally the reason why I thought there could be crime in there is because of the person that looks like they are chained up connoting crime.
Narrative: The narrative was pretty easy to follow but hard to work out if that makes sense, what I think is perhaps a journalist (connoted by the keyboard) is trying to find a woman who's been missing for a while and does some thing to do with computers (connoted by the computer wires, maybe a computer hacker).
Characters: In the sense of characters in this opening titles sequence, I could see that there would be woman and a man as the main actors and actress in this film and I could tell this because there was a man and a woman in the opening titles of the film. The main actor being Daniel Craig and the main actress being Rooney Mara, I know that Daniel Craig has become famous from the Bond franchise but I don't really know who Rooney Mara is so she could be an up and coming actress.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere within these opening titles is predominately mysterious although at some points it does make you feel on edge as it is a very weird opening sequence.
Setting: From watching the opening titles sequence, I couldn't tell where the film is set to be honest as it doesn't really give it away.
Sound: The non-diegetic music over the top of the opening titles makes it seem even more creepy and mysterious as it is just a mysterious song.
Titles: The titles in the opening titles sequence are pretty flamboyant and are written in a nice font, which gives it also a mysterious feeling, they are in silver as well which makes them go in with the colour scheme of the opening titles and are conventional as they come in, in the right order but do change there position on the screen.
