The Opening Titles of the film Lord of War (2005) gives us a good insight into the film, I can tell this because you can pick up things about the film from the opening titles.
Genre: The first of which was the genre of the film, I could tell by the opening that this film was an Action, perhaps political genre. The reasoning behind this is because though the opening you follow the life of a bullet, tracking its journey through the assembly line, the travel of the bullet to a location, it being put into a gun then fired into someone’s forehead. You would normally expect some sort of violence/gun crime in an action that is why I thought that, the political side comes from the location with it being in an African country with political problem and as it is, guns fight wars.
Narrative: I would say the narrative is quite easy to follow, as you would expect someone to get shot and from what I have seen I think the bullet connotes someone’s life.
Characters:In the sense of characters in these opening titles I could see that there was definitely going to be a man main actor who goes by the name of Nicolas Cage, he is a very famous actor and has starred in a variety of different films that have won numerous awards.
Atmosphere: Also the atmosphere is very upbeat although it is a story about a bullet, which you wouldn't expect to be upbeat.

Themes/Setting: I think the themes in this opening titles sequence are War, Death/Pain, Politics and Destruction and the settings to be in Africa, naval ship and a factory because from the opening titles you see a bullet which normally would connote violence/war, you can also see that the country it is set in is a a hot country (i think Africa), you can tell that it is political by the country it is set in and the theme of war and also you can see that the bullet conflicts death/pain upon people from the end of the opening credits.
Sound: One of the main bits I picked up in this opening title sequence is the non-diegetic music, it is a catchy tune, the song was written by Buffalo Springfield in 1966 and was titled 'For what its worth' and was written about the Vietnam war and is linked to the journey of the bullet. It is an upbeat and relaxing song which juxtaposes the bullet and the chorus is "I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound, everybody look what's going down" and I think this song has been very cleverly put into this opening title sequence because bullets makes sounds and make people fall to the floor relating to the "what's that sound, everybody look what's going down."
Titles: The actual titles for this opening title sequence are in small formal font, most of them are in the center and they are not integrated, the titles are in the center of the screen to be in the audiences view all of the time so it shows off the production companies, distributors, cast and crew.
